Responsibilities
Integrate/manipulate large datasets from different data sources. Conduct advanced data mining in a timely and accurate manner as required by the program/project
Maintain the data management/systems reporting function and operations of various Wellness and MAP programs/events, which includes the creation, data integrity analysis and reporting for program/events
Design and develop data collection instruments, databases and procedure manuals based on thorough knowledge of data files, related databases, and systems integration.
Participate in the design, implementation, and training of data management strategies/techniques and systems, and quality control procedures, including writing technical requirements and documentation of data sets. Communicate with internal departments and management to identify root causes and resolve issues
Analyze all Wellness-MAP programs, including scope, impact, and resources; translate needs, issues and ideas into effective strategies and action plans
Interpret the data and outcome analyses to the Manager, statistical analysis; queries; preparation of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and executive reports for all the Wellness-MAP programs
Generate departmental custom and ad hoc reports from Medecision and other sources.
Provide analytical tools and technical expertise to improve the departmental efficiencies
Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Analytics, Computer Science, Healthcare Management, equivalent years of work experience required; Master's Degree preferred, Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) a plus
Minimum two (2) years (or 1 year with Masters degree) experience with healthcare analysis, familiarity manipulating large healthcare datasets across different applications, managing relational databases required
Experience writing system specifications, expert knowledge of relational database concepts and intermediate knowledge of SQL, and Business Objects or Crystal reports
Experience with healthcare administrative data (such as care management, health insurance, or health claims preferred)
Demonstrate experience in data mining, analysis, system implementation and reporting, required; able to identify anomalies, trends, inconsistencies and make recommendations to improve processes, workflow, and operations
Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Word, Outlook) PowerPoint required, Visio and Microsoft Project a plus, VBA, and computer programming highly preferred; advanced knowledge of database tables, forms, queries, Macros and reports a must
Knowledge of Medical terminology, typical coding conventions (ICD-10, HCPCS/CPT, MS-DRG, Revenue Code), health claims systems (medical and hospital), healthcare datasets
Strong attention to detail, critical thinking and analytical skills required; must be an effective problem solver; work well independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment
Excellent time management and project management skills; able to prioritize and multi-task to meet strict timelines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must
